Abstract

Contemporary churches face significant theological and practical challenges in understanding the nature and function of apostolic and prophetic ministries within their life and mission. This study examines the vital role of apostolic and prophetic ministries in shaping an Apostolic-Prophetic Church, with Ephesians 4:11–13 serving as its primary theological foundation. Employing a qualitative approach based on a literature review, this study analyzes how these two ministry gifts complement one another in building congregations that grow not only numerically but also prophetically—enabling them to hear and respond to the voice of God and to proclaim His Word boldly and relevantly in the contemporary context. The findings indicate that apostolic ministry fundamentally functions through establishing doctrinal and structural frameworks, providing strategic vision, equipping leaders, and fostering the unity of the body of Christ, while prophetic ministry operates dynamically through communicating the heart of God, strengthening and encouraging believers, discerning times and seasons, confronting spiritual deviations, and identifying injustice. This study demonstrates that these two ministries work synergistically: apostles provide structure and strategy, while prophets contribute vision and spiritual sensitivity. Together, they contribute to a healthy and balanced church that pursues unity in the faith, a deep knowledge of Christ, and full spiritual maturity.


Gereja kontemporer menghadapi tantangan teologis dan praktis yang signifikan dalam memahami hakikat dan fungsi pelayanan kerasulan dan kenabian di tengah kehidupan dan misinya. Penelitian ini mengkaji peran penting pelayanan kerasulan dan kenabian dalam membentuk Gereja Apostolik Profetik, dengan Efesus 4:11-13 sebagai landasan teologis utama. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif berbasis tinjauan pustaka, penelitian ini menganalisis bagaimana kedua karunia pelayanan ini saling melengkapi dalam membangun jemaat yang bertumbuh tidak hanya secara numerik tetapi juga secara profetik—mampu mendengar dan merespons suara Allah serta memberitakan firman-Nya dengan berani dan relevan di zaman ini. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pelayanan kerasulan berfungsi secara fundamental melalui penetapan kerangka doktrinal dan struktural, penyediaan visi strategis, pembekalan pemimpin, dan pemersatuan tubuh Kristus, sementara pelayanan kenabian beroperasi secara dinamis melalui penyampaian hati Allah, pembangunan dan penghiburan orang percaya, pembedaan waktu dan musim, penantangan penyimpangan rohani, dan identifikasi ketidakadilan. Penelitian ini mendemonstrasikan bahwa kedua pelayanan ini bekerja secara sinergis—rasul memberikan struktur dan strategi sementara nabi menawarkan visi dan kepekaan rohani—yang menghasilkan gereja yang sehat dan seimbang yang mencapai kesatuan iman, pengetahuan mendalam tentang Kristus, dan kedewasaan penuh.
